INVICTUS SIGNS CORY MARQUARDT TO MANAGEMENT AND AGENCY ROSTER

Cory Marquardt

Invictus Entertainment Group is proud to announce the signing of Cory Marquardt to an exclusive management and agency agreement. Invictus will now direct the career of this young country music artist and power house vocalist.

Marquardt, who hails from North Bay, Ontario recently released his long awaited debut single "Smartphone".

The catchy up-tempo song - produced by Murray Pulver (Doc Walker) and Rob Crosby (country hit maker) - features witty lyrics that speak to the ubiquitous use (and misuse) of cell phone cameras.

Whatcha doing who you're doing doing it with
Hard to keep a secret in a world like this
Things you want to hide get a written in stone
Your cover's blown
Being stupid on a smartphone

Marquardt has been making a name for himself as a creative songwriter, with a powerful vocal, and a highly energetic stage show.

Marquardt recently made several performance and media stops in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia to help promote his debut single.

Invictus Entertainment is a multi-award winning agency that works with some of Canada's top country music artists, including Emerson Drive, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Charlie Major, One More Girl, and Brett Kissel.

INVICTUS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP AND UNIVERSAL MUSIC CANADA ANNOUNCE LAUNCH OF BIG STAR RECORDINGS
BigStar Recordings BigStar Recordings

Invictus Entertainment Group and Universal Music Canada are proud to announce the launch of Canada’s newest music label Big Star Recordings. The idea came to IEG president, Jim Cressman, after working closely with several major labels on behalf of artists and realizing that an independent record company working in tandem with the distributor would be an asset. With so much competition in the industry today, to join forces made a lot of sense and would provide additional services to the artist.

We're in the artist services business - promoting/touring, booking, management and now we've entered the label business.” Says Invictus Entertainment Group President Jim Cressman. “Our first signing is iconic Canadian star George Canyon and his first single "Slow Dance" is not only a great song, but it's the biggest -out of the box - single, thus far in his career. That's a testament to the fact that people are taking the song and our presence in this world seriously. Thanks to Canadian radio for letting a great song speak for itself and thanks to Randy Lennox and his team at Universal Music Canada for stepping up and partnering with us on this exciting endeavor.”

JUNO Award winner and flagship “Big Star Recordings” artist George Canyon, whose new single “Slow Dance” was one of the highlights of the televised 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards which took place at Rexall Place in Edmonton on September 8th, has sold over 300,000 albums in Canada. He has toured Canada from coast to coast and won numerous CCMA Awards and many other accolades over the past decade. Canyon also has many acting credits in film and TV shows, the latest performance, aired on TV, is in a remake of the 1929 classic Gary Cooper movie, “The Virginian” with Trace Adkins and Ron Perlman.

"Big Star Recordings gives me the best of both worlds. All the distribution and promotional muscle of Universal with the boutique day to day interface that I am used to with my manager - Jim Cressman.” Says Big Star’s first artist George Canyon. “It's exciting to be part of this new imprint and we are off to an incredible start with 'Slow Dance," thanks to our friends at Canadian radio!"

With the announcement of this partnership with Universal Music Canada, Big Star Recordings hopes to provide a unique experience for artists, providing the clout of a major label with the one-on-one attention of an independent one.

Invictus Entertainment Group has set itself apart in the industry with a reputation for fierce dedication to the development of talent in the Canadian music business as well as being a quality asset in entertainment procurement services, event programming, promoting, talent buying and artist representation.
